I have been an employee with Interior Savings Credit Union for 15 years. Currently, I am in the role of an Account Manager at the Lake Country Branch, however, most of my career with Interior Savings has been as a Supervisor Member Services with the aspiration to one day become a branch manager. I was born and raised in Fort St. John where I started my career with Credit Unions, working with North Peace Savings Credit Union prior to relocating Kamloops in 2005, where I was fortunate to secure a position with Interior Savings. In the summer of 2017, I accepted a transfer and moved to Lake Country with my 2 kids and fiancé.
In Kamloops, I sat on the Elizabeth Fry Rent Bank Advisory Council for 4 years. The Rent Bank Program provides interest-free loans for individuals facing challenges paying rent or utilities. We reviewed applications, qualifying criteria, how to get funding for the program as well as how to market it.
My kids and I also volunteered regularly at the Kamloops Food Bank, building hampers, sorting products, handing out hampers, and helping with food drives.
In Lake Country, I have hosted several in-branch job shadows for GESS students that were interested in pursuing a future in finance. GESS also invited me to come and speak about Financial Literacy at a business information session they had for Grade 11 & 12 students in February 2020.
